Autocad architecture 2011 classic toolbars
I find that I am using the Ribbon more and more so I will eventually wean myself off the toolbars but I will keep a customized pull-down menu for quite some time to come. In the discussion below I will review some of the steps you can take to reconfigure your AutoCAD Architecture to suit your working needs. A Profile stores all of the settings inside the Options dialog. Though you can use the Export and Import buttons to transfer a Profile from one release to another, I find that sometimes this scrambles the settings when new ones have been introduced and the has new settings.
A Workspace stores the GUI settings. You can also alter settings like the display of pull-down menus, what's on the Quick Access Toolbar and the display of the Drafting Tools on the Application Status Bar. Type " MenuBar " and set to 1 if you want to see pull-down menus. In AutoCAD Architecture you won't see any pull-down menu options unless you installed the Express Tools or loaded your own custom pull-down menus. Type " RibbonClose " if you want to turn off the Ribbon. Type " Ribbon " if you want to turn the Ribbon on.
The Express Tools can be installed as part of the original installation but you have to use the custom options rather than the default installation. If you missed out on the Express Tools, you can you can restart the Setup routine and Add this component.
Menu Organization If you haven't invested the time and energy needed to create, organize or otherwise manage your custom menus now is the time. I wanted to call it "PowerBar" but that name has already been taken.
The other menus were taken directly from ACA You can, for example, use the aca. Using the CUI editor you can tailor the menus to match your specific needs and then associate all your customized Partial Menus with the current Workspace.
There are free. Once this menu has been loaded, my pull-down menu list displays all of the old pull-down menus from ACA Note 1: Though my interpretation of what Autodesk's Help menu suggests about loading Partial Menus, I have yet to Load any without all of the Menus and Toolbars automatically spreading to every Workspace.
This forces me to have to manually "Remove from Workspace" anything I don't want in those other Workspaces. This seems like a bug or flaw in design since it would be better if nothing was automatically propagated until I use the Customize Workspace button to add items from a Partial Menu. If you aren't a Ribbon fan, you can still utilize it to add tools to your Quick Access Toolbar by simply right-clicking over a Ribbon Panel tool to access the " Add to Quick Access Toolbar " context menu option.
One complaint I have about the adding of tools is that you cannot quickly add tools from fly-outs; you have to add the whole fly-out. This isn't a major issue but it would be nice to have both options: add the whole fly-out or just one fly-out tool. When working 3D, there are times that I turn it On just to check how Objects relate to the current working Plane. If you use the Grid and want the old dots back, you can check the " 2D model space " option under Grid Style in the Drafting Settings dialog as illustrated to the right.

Issue: After starting up AutoCAD or during use, the ribbon, status bar, or other toolbars are missing, blank, empty, or have disappeared. Causes: There can be multiple causes for this issue: Clean Screen is toggled on. Save your work space as a different name via the work space command "save current as" you will find this when you click the wheel at the bottom right of your screen.
This will enable you at a later date to flick between your newly named "classic view" arrangement and the original time consuming "ribbon" arrangement via your workspace options. See note 4 for why. Once you have done this, back up your "classic view" workspace in case you have to do a systems re-install at a later date and hopefully all you will need to do is import your back up without having to go through whole process of setting up your desired "classic view" arrangement all over again.
To do this, go to "options" via, either clicking "format" on the drop down menu bar or clicking the drop down next to the big red 'A' at the top left. Click the "Profile" tab then click "Export". This will then enable you to name and chose where you would like to save your backup. I would also then burn a copy later from where ever you saved your back up just incase your whole PC goes down and you have to do a complete systems install.
If you then find at a later date you need to do a systems re-install or re-load CAD. Save a copy of your back up file on to your PC, open up your newly loaded CAD, go to "options" via the big red 'A', then "profiles" and then "import". Find your back up file. Once you have done this your backup file will drop into the "available profiles" listing which you will be able to select and then click "Set Current" I believe there are a number of good reasons that it is important to save your newly arranged "classic view" as a new name and retain the original time consuming ribbon arrangement too.
Just so you all know I am not an IT or CAD wizard I am just a normal dude that uses CAD and has been since the early days at release 10 and I feel cheated, betrayed and let down by Autodesks bullying and forcing us to us the ribbon arrangement when they could just build into there new releases the option for both.
I have spent hours surfing the net trying to retrieve my preferred" classic view" workspace and getting confused and frustrated along the way and I hope these additional notes serve you all well. We owe a big thank you to "Sgrinavi" who kindly responded to my plea and enabling us to outline the solution through a very short, current and simple forum string. Message 5 of Message 6 of Hi Sgrinavi If you read my post carefully, you will notice that I wrote "I'm afraid they will not work because they have been developed for ACA".
Message 7 of Message 8 of Message 9 of I think Pedro meant to nicely say the following as well as try to sell you something : Many have successfully installed and used that zip file content in ACA and ACA just be careful no content new to ACA is lost to an ACA only add-on. Message 10 of Dean, Let me clear this point:.
I am an architect since and I always made my living as an architect. PS: Both books are out of stock, so I have nothing more to sell you:.
