Didn't match my screen. If it doesn't work, then at least you'll have a new Stick that will work if you ever decide to use it on a more recent Operating System.
Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. Interesting problem. So, you've used the same controller on the same game CFS and on the same Operating System XP before and it worked well then, but not now. Has anything changed since that time? If the above checks out i. It will go through a check of the controller and port and spit out some information. See how you go with the above and let us know the outcome.
It is possible that a game port is needed which in turn plugs into a USB port, but since you have had the controller operating well before all this, then this may not be needed. Re: Game port.
This is actually a 15 pin socket on the back of your computer into which your Sidewinder would plug into. However, game ports were done away with some time ago and then one could put their 15 pin plug into an adapter which would then plug into a USB port. Having said that, I wonder what type of plug your Sidewinder has? Is it a large 15 pin type or a smaller one that fits into a USB port?
If it's the large type and if you don't have a game port on your computer, then you would need an adapter similar to this you will need to copy this link and paste it into your browser :. Should also say, that there could be a large port s on the back of your computer but it could be one going into your motherboard or to a dedicated video card, using a VGA or DVI cable. Don't try using any of these ports for your sidewinder plug.
So, even if you managed to get an adapter game port to usb , there's still no guarantee that will fix your problem, as something else may be wrong; so I would be very hesitant to spend on this.
If your Sidewinder has the smaller plug for USB ports and this is what you have been using but doesn't work, then does your joystick and Saitek appear in your Control Panel? Thanks in advance! Did you go to 'add hardware' in the control panel? We do our best not to type gibberish. I Hope you can forgive us. Most but not all joysticks require their own software to be installed to be completely functional I already installed it. I just never calibrated it. I don't think that's relevant to what my question is though.
The game controllers thing won't open at all. I double click it and nothing happens. Have you tried restore to an earlier time?
