WhatsApp Messenger. Talking Tom Cat. Clash of Clans. Subway Surfers. TubeMate 3. Google Play. Biden to send military medical teams to help hospitals. N95, KN95, KF94 masks. GameStop PS5 in-store restock.
Baby Shark reaches 10 billion YouTube views. Microsoft is done with Xbox One. Windows Windows. Most Popular. Pros: - Supports a myriad of media types.
Active progress to fix issues that can be addressed with Firmware. Cons: - There is no DTS to stereo downmix available. I've had to reset the device either from loss of sound, or media files that makes the device unstable. Overall Review: Affordable device that can replace a home-theatre PC. Fully capable of playing back High-Def content with no delay stuttering.
Would have rated 'Five-Star' however Firmware needs some bug-fixing and some common requested features added such as menu's in DVD playback iso files. Cons: The remote is a lil flakey, and very small. Pros: Small, stylish, it has played everything I've thrown at it thus far.. MKV with full audio!! For those griping it wont play the audio It's not hard! It adds more audio support for those files!
Never hurts to read a bit ya know? The picture and audio quality so far are quite good! I have not a single complaint at all about this little black box! I highly recommend!!!! Overall Review: Before flaming a product, do your research. Sometimes the problems you may be having are not really a problem at all.
The fact WD has been issuing updates for this product says a lot to me. They actually seem to care. Pros: I think this device is fantastic. I have used it to play almost every file type, and have had zero problems.
Others who complain about the lack of audio on mkv files must not have a home theater system. Menu system is crisp and easy to understand, device is simple to use even with minimal tech understanding. Only time I have noticed a lower quality picture is on my 50" plasma while watching files which have been compressed too much, which is to be expected.
On a regular SD tv, the lower quality was barely noticeable. Others have complained about load time from an attached drive, I have found this to be a non issue also, if you plug in a new drive it takes a minute or two to scan, but after that there is minimal load time, even when the drive is removed. I have recommended this product to several other techie type friends who have also been equally impressed.
Agree, this does seem a bit weird since they are not selling them today. Until smoke emanates from either, I will be good to go for a while. I even have a new Live Streaming player still in sealed box if I need to break into it.
I have no avi files with my movies on them, but I would suspect Kodi could do a decent job of playing them like a WDTV can. Also using Firestarter aka AppStarter. Trying to keep my file sizes down on my NAS. Nevertheless, how does one block auto update of the FW? But, in a few cases I have made a m4v file from BD-mkv to play on iPad. It was released as a Fire TV version by the new Twonky owner back in the fall. Both finally worked well. Must be due to improvements in the Connect app and FW updates.
This will be handy for travel purposes, but totally unnecessary at home since I have WDTV and other less geeky ways to get my movies playing. OK, will check it out. Later on I will check on the Kodi app on the Fire Stick. Darn well be still working! I like the case you chose. Where did you buy the stuff? For UK users … they can get one here. Thanks for the info. I just found it on Amazon.
